Verity Burns from Photographypress.co.uk reports that Abbyy just announced the availability of their FotoReader software — slick software that makes use of OCR to take a camera photo and instantly convert it to a document format such as Word, Excel or PDF (yes, our favorite).

Suggested uses include photographing book pages, capturing text from presentations, and saving PDF cards. I’d also add that those involved in corporate espionage would be high-fiving each other on this release.
