Create PDFs for free using Firefox Add-ons

By Rowan Hanna on 8 October, 2008 | , No Comment

There are a lot of great Firefox Add-ons out there that let you convert web pages to PDF for free. And previously, I have looked at PrintPDF and LOOP for Firefox, but it appears that a couple of new add-ons have emerged which are worth looking at as well. So here’s a (hopefully) comprehensive list of add-ons fore Firefox that will help you convert web pages to PDF.

  • PrintPDF — Adds a Print to PDF option to the FIle menu in Firefox, allowing users on Windows and Linux to print web pages to PDF.
  • PDF Download — Adds a Web-to-PDF toolbar to Firefox that lets you not only convert web pages to PDF, but also automatically email the new PDF to a specified email address. This is a very popular add-on and it’s primarily known for the fact that it can automatically stop PDFs from opening in the browser for you.
  • LOOP to PDF for Firefox — Lets you upload, convert and combine your files to PDF from a tidy toolbar, without the conversion getting in the way of your Web browsing. LOOP for Firefox allows you to convert and combine files to PDF with the click of a button.
  • pdfit — A extension that allows user to convert current page to image file, or PDF format (image to pdf), during the page to image conversion process, user can apply some image filters( for example, rotate, reflection).

Did I miss any? If so, leave a note in the comments section and I’ll be happy to update the list.

Disclosure: Karl De Abrew is founder and part-owner of the company behind PDF Download, Nitro PDF Software, and Rowan Hanna was previously an employee of Nitro PDF Software as well.
