Ten Helpful Tips For Creating Usable and Accessible PDFs

16 Dec 2008 | Rowan Hanna | 2 Comments

Deborah Edwards-Onoro from Refresh Detroit has published a detailed list of ten tips for creating usable and accessible PDFs. The list focuses on preparing documents for conversion to PDF and processing PDF’s once they have been created.

My favorit tips from the list are three, four and five: add metadata to PDFs, add bookmarks for easy navigation and add initial view settings for when the PDF is first opened.

    Rowan,

Thanks for highlighting the article, and hope my tips will help others create more usable PDF files. I found information on several websites about creating friendly PDFs, but couldn’t find the information all in one place. Thought publishing the article would help others not spend hours searching for information.
