US patent 7,454,760 issued for Rosebud PLM’s unique method of collaboration on the Web

3 Dec 2008 | Karl De Abrew | No Comment

For the past 6 1/2 years, Rosebud PLM has been working to have a patent issued for its “Method and Software for enabling N-way collaboration over the Network for Computers” approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Why is this important for PDF users? Well, the first implementation of Rosebud is a SaaS (Software as a Service) product based around using Adobe Acrobat – the same theory as Acrobat Connect.  The tool allows you to present a PDF file, review it and edit it amongst multiple participants.

You can download a free trial version of their software from their website.  I had some issues with the Acrobat on my system, so I watched the YouTube demo instead which allows you to see the sample collaboration without installation (quite informative I might add). I will continue to follow up with the Rosebud team to conduct a real-life demo.
