PDFTron has released announced the release of its PDF library, PDFNet Mobile SDK, for Windows Mobile. PDFNet is an independent library for viewing, annotating, creating and manipulating PDF documents on mobile and embedded devices.

Just over a year ago on November 29, 2007, Adobe launched Ads for Adobe PDF. The concept was simple, online commercial publishers would be able to use an opt-in service to enable contextual ads within Adobe Acrobat, beside PDF content. Ads for the service would be powered by Yahoo! and the program would begin in beta mode.

Along with Jakob Nielson (back in June of 2001), the guys at bMighty don’t think too much of PDF when it’s not being used for printing… in their eyes, PDF is a obsolete paper metaphor, not suited to the fluidity, navigation and scalability of the Web.

For those looking to merge PDFs online, you’ve got at least 3 choices, PDFJoin, PDFHammer and now mergepdf.net. Each tool has minor differences, however, if all you need to do is to combine a number of PDFs together, then you can use any of them.

Patience makes the heart grow fonder, as they say. Perhaps that’s why I’m longing after the Plastic Logic Reader. We first got to see a short demo of this nifty electronic reading device back in September of last year and now a few more videos of the new prototype have shown up.
These videos are from CES 2009 in Las Vegas. They give you a pretty good idea of the quality of the display screen that the Plastic Logic Reader uses and it’s size.
