Researcher builds home-brewed security patch for Adobe Reader

Lurene Grenier of Sourcefire’s Vulnerability Research Team has published an update for Adobe Reader 9 to provide defense against the zero day attacks recently reported which allow a (well-informed) hacker to execute code on a user’s system.

Her update is available from the VRT site… of course, applying a patch from a person/software company you don’t know appears to me — to be (potentially) more of a risk than the exploit itself, I wouldn’t do it.
