3 Oct 2009 | | No Comment

Qipit, Inc. today unveiled its new iPhone application that turns any iPhone into a portable scanner for capturing white board notes from the boardroom, the classroom or anywhere.

Qipit White, as stated by company, immediately converts a  hard-to-read picture captured from the iPhone’s camera, removes redundant shadows and glares, whitens the background and darkens the writing. The result is a fully transformed ink-on-white digital copy (PDF or JPEG) which can be shared instantly via email from iPhone itself. The conversion to PDF is added advantage as it provides security to the document if required. Currently, the application is available in the Apple App Store.

The software lets anyone with an iPhone share the hand-written image with colleagues, friends and family or save it for future references.

The CEO of Qipit, Benoit Bergeret said “We designed Qipit White from the ground up, creating a product that better meets the needs of anyone seeking to instantly and clearly capture and transmit the results of their collaborative efforts”. He also added “It’s an application that costs less than the price of two cups of coffee”.

Qipit White runs on any iPhone model with version 3.0 or higher. Critics are eyeing this as one of the interesting application for PDF industry.
