SLG Mobile Inc, a software company that deals in the development of document and file management solutions for mobile devices, today announced the release of its BeamReader PDF Viewer for the Android platform. The company is in discussion with other mobile maufacturers to make the BeamReader PDF Viewer application available on the upcoming Andriod devices too.

NiXPS say yes in their latest blog post. But it’s not the concept of PDF Portfolio’s that troubles them per se, but rather the fact that in certain bleeding-edge PDFs, Adobe include a warning message that tells you to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader if you want to view the PDF in question. No ifs, buts or maybes — if you want to view this PDF, then you’ll need to use Adobe’s software.

Foxit Corporation, a provider of e-document technology for mobile, desktop and on demand platforms, announced the release of Firmware 2.0 for its eReader device, eSlick. eSlick customers will now have the ability to view documents in ePub and eReader (PDB) in addition to earlier supported PDF and Text formats. By the end of November, all eSlick devices will come with the Firmware 2.0 pre-installed.
