21 Dec 2009 | | No Comment

Foxit Software reassured its customers that its PDF reader products are virus free, and also not vulnerable to malicious PDF attacks. Recently, Foxit was alerted regarding an erroneous warning message in the anti-virus program, AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 9.0. After a detailed study by both parties, the problem was found to be a definition error within the AVG software. The company afterward issued a new version of the antivirus software which is now available at http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage .

President of Foxit, Eugene Y. Xiong said “Foxit stands by its commitment to provide effective, reliable and secure PDF applications,” He also added “I want to also confirm that our Foxit Phantom PDF Suite and Foxit Reader do not suffer from the current security ‘malicious PDF’ problems suffered by some other vendor’s PDF software. It’s good news for users of the Microsoft Windows platform. They can feel safe reading any PDF document with Foxit products, and use our Reader as an alternative to Adobe’s.”
