Kofax plc, a UK-based vendor for automated business solutions, announced the launch of Kofax Desktop 2.0, a new release of its scanning software with enhanced scanning capabilities. The new release includes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities, integration with MS Office 2007 applications and supports multiple languages.
The new release of software allows images or documents to be exported as searchable PDFs. It also offers the ability to export color images as compressed PDFs that are smaller in size and therefore increases the scanning efficiency and speed over the network.
The new release supports eight new language versions, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. This expands the presence of Kofax Desktop globally.
A free 30-day trial version of Kofax Desktop 2.0 is available for download from http://www.kofax.com. The full version of Kofax Desktop 2.0 is priced at USD 49.00.
