Pageflex announces support for PDF/VT

Pageflex, a developer of enterprise variable publishing and web-to-print solutions, announced the support for PDF/VT for exchanging variable data publishing jobs. All Pageflex products will support PDF/VT from the next release this summer. Pageflex made this announcement at IPEX 2010, Birmingham (UK).

PDF/VT stands for Variable Transaction and is an emerging ISO standard (ISO 16612-2) for describing the variable-data PDF documents to enable efficiency and consistent quality in the production of variable-data PDF documents. The PDF/VT standard is currently under development by a committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Pageflex has previewed its support for PDF/VT at Drupa 2008. Pageflex PDF/VT output was also tested on HP’s SmartStream Production Pro Print Server.
