Fortinet report highlights PDF vulnerability used to exploit Jailbroken iPhones

Fortinet, a leading network security provider, announced its September 2010 Threat Landscape report which highlighted that a new PDF vulnerability is being used to exploit Jailbroken Apple iPhones.

A Jailbroken iPhone allow a greater number of applications to run while circumventing Digital Rights Management (DRM). So, this also makes a Jailbroken iPhone susceptible to malware attacks. The report highlights that PDF vulnerability is used to execute malicious code on Jailbroken iPhones.

FortiGuard Labs compiled the threat statistics and trends for September based on data collected from FortiGate network security appliances and intelligence systems in production worldwide. Fortinet also confirmed that its customers who use FortiGuard Subscription Services would be aleady protected against the threats outlined in this report.
