Workshare releases its latest PDF Comparison Server

Workshare, a provider of document collaboration software, announced the release of latest version 5.2 of Workshare Compare Server, its document comparison solution which is delivered from a centralised server. The solution provides highly accurate PDF and document comparison capabilities to ensure compliance in high-value documents.

Workshare Compare Server 5.2 supports commonly used formats such as PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF and HTML for comparison and also supports UNICODE compliance. It provides an Application programming interface (API) which allows the developers to write custom document comparison software for enterprise or web applications. The output from comparison is a comparison document known as a “Redline” which describes the differences between the two versions.

Workshare Compare Server enables productivity and workflow improvements by integrating enterprise applications for easy comparison of Word to Word, Word to PDF or PDF to PDF. And all this can be done from a single browser window. Workshare Compare Server can be used in conjunction with existing Enterprise Content Management solutions to eliminate administration overhead with efficient and enhanced comparison service.

The additional benefits of Workshare Compare Server 5.2 includes:

  • Streamlined document review with multi-party collaboration and parallel review of documents. This would prevent version proliferation during the review process
