Foxit Software, a vendor for PDF solutions, will be soon releasing a new version of its eSlick book reader. The new version of the device is called eSlick PS (Pocket Size) and is smaller as compared to original eSlick.

Adobe and Barnes announces further advancement for eBook distribution by joining hands to standardize the open EPUB and PDF eBooks and collaborating on a content protection standard based on Barnes & Noble and Adobe technology. Barnes and Noble will make all their content available to customers in PDF, which is one of the most compatible and secure file formats.

Previously we’ve covered the announcement of the Foxit eSlick, a competitor to Sony Reader and and Amazon’s Kindle — now we have footage of the first prototype of the Foxit eSlick to share with you.

Foxit Software has also posted a video on YouTube demonstrating the hotly anticipated reflow feature in the eSlick.

The reflow functionality is important because it means that the text in the PDF document can automatically be reorganized to fit the screen size. More information about the eSlick Reader can be found here.

We covered the Xerox Travel Scanner a couple of months ago, but since we hadn’t actually tried it ourselves yet, we weren’t able any details on how usable it is. Luckily a visitor has been kind enough to share their experience with this compact scanner:

Well — early-to-mid November has been non-stop discussion in the hotly debated topic of the so-called “paperless office”.
