Aluratek, Inc., a developer of computer peripherals and consumer electronic devices, announced the release of Libre, a new eBook Reader with LCD technology. The Libre supports Adobe’s Digital Edition software allowing Digital Rights Management (DRM) support for ePUB and PDF formats. This allows users to purchase new book releases from a variety of eBook content providers including eBooks.com, one of Aluratek’s content partners.

Foxit Corporation in partnership with Fictionwise LLC, a Barnes & Noble Company, launches its new eBookStore for all eSlick users.
The company said Foxit taps into the growing demand for eBooks by partnering with Fictionwise, enabling eSlick users to read eBooks in the eReader format. The eReader format is supported by eSlick’s version 2.0 firmware.

Previously we’ve covered the announcement of the Foxit eSlick, a competitor to Sony Reader and and Amazon’s Kindle — now we have footage of the first prototype of the Foxit eSlick to share with you.
Foxit Software has also posted a video on YouTube demonstrating the hotly anticipated reflow feature in the eSlick.
The reflow functionality is important because it means that the text in the PDF document can automatically be reorganized to fit the screen size. More information about the eSlick Reader can be found here.
