Tracker Software is offering PDF-XChange Lite 4.0, its lightweight software for creating and editing PDFs, as a freeware for non-commercial and academic use. PDF-XChange Lite 4.0 is derived from company’s flagship PDF-XChange line of commercial products.

Bluebeam announced the release of a German version of Bluebeam PDF Revu, its award-winning PDF Editor. Bluebeam PDF Revu is a PDF editor that is specifically designed for CAD users.

Qoppa Software announced the release of an enhanced version 6.5 of PDF Studio, its desktop-based software for PDF editing. The new version features enhanced batch handling, measurement calibration, callout annotation, improved security and usability.

BCG Software announced the release of NovusOffice, a fully-compatible office suite of desktop-based applications designed for small businesses. The new suite includes Author, Mail, Spreadsheet, Database, Powershow, PDF Editor, Business Calculator and Zip tools.

Coherent Graphics Ltd. announced the release of new updated version 1.2 of Proview PDF Editor for Mac OS X. The new version has improved performance and features a wide range of tools for editing PDF documents.

SmileOnMyMac has released an upgraded version 4.7 of PDFpen, its PDF editing software for Mac OS X. The upgraded version includes support for Evernote, a multi-platform notetaking and archiving service.

These days, it’s fairly difficult to get excited when you hear of yet another free PDF reader. I mean seriously, how many times can you read the one PDF, right? But whoa daddy – when it comes to Nitro Reader, you need to make sure you’re sitting down before you fire it up. It’s so jam-packed-full-of-features that just won’t cost you a cent – I can guarantee you’re going to make the switch – or at least come pretty darn close to it.

soft Xpansion announced its new and enhanced version of Perfect PDF Premium 6, its complete all-in-one solution for creating and editing PDFs. The newly added features include the ability to create PDFs from MS Outlook, support for XPS format, new annotation and editing tools and a powerful editor for backgrounds, watermarks, headers and footers.

Bluebeam Software will be demonstrating Bluebeam PDF Revu 8 to Swedish construction industry at the Nordbygg trade fair. The Swedish version of PDF Revu 8 is available exclusively through FutureCAD, a Stockholm-based software distributor.

Foxit Corporation, a provider of solutions for reading, editing, creating, organizing, securing PDF documents and eReader devices, announces the release of Foxit PDF Editor Version 2.2. The new Editor improves and simplifies the process of editing and changing data in PDF Document

A number of online PDF editors are starting to emerge, and I believe it’s a trend that’s only going to continue, perhaps culminating in Adobe releasing a truly online version of Acrobat.
Previously we’ve looked at PDF Hammer and now we’re going to look at PDFescape. I found PDFescape generally pretty easy to use and the list of features it includes are impressive for an online editor:
